Where to begin on this amazing journey. Let me take a moment and explain how it was all laid out.
It was a series of 8 classes with content that builds from week to week. Participants were register for all 8 weeks. During weeks 1-5, The Kids studied something called Mise En Place, which is french for "Everything in its Place". These kids mastered basic kitchen techniques and safety skills throughout the kitchen. Everything from types of knifes, cutting skills, reading recipes, baking and cooking techniques.
During Weeks 6 - 8, the kiddos were in charge of on menu planning, understanding the parameters of the event, costs allowed and what equipment we can use to complete their dishes. They had to create a recipe, menu and company names that they want to showcase. Each child created something so different and so unique.
The Main EVENT
On event night, Each participant had to explain their company and dish to the people walking through as well as prepare 50 - 2oz servings for people to try. These KIDS NAILED IT. We had DOUBLE the amount of people attend the event.
I could not be more proud of a group of students. Each kid did something so unique and special that demonstrated the skills we learned as well as their individual personality.
