Away We Grow - The Pesto's Yet to Come

This summer, come and take a Veggie-Cation with us at Niagara Produce of Elma. This class is designed for the kids to learn how a fruit and vegetable grow, how to harvest it and then how to use it in our own cooking.

Classes are individual and will Take Place every other Thursday

June 27th, July 11th, July 25th, August 8th, August 22nd & August 29th

In this class you will:

• Learn about fresh produce, you will learn how to grocery shop for ingredients and then you will take a cooking class on how to use the food to create your our dishes.
• Our Away we grow stand in the green house will host a variety of plants that we will use during our cooking process. 
• An Apron and hat will be provided during the class. 

Class Layout: During our time, the kids will visit the green house to check on their plants and will receive a fresh herb from the gardening manager. Then we will have a scavenger hunt through the grocery store for the remainder of our ingredients and will finish in the kitchen area to  prepare some dishes for the kids to eat for lunch.

• Fresh Fruit Slushies
• Kabobs 2 Ways

1. Salad Kabobs - Panzanella salad with fresh pesto
2. Strawberries Caprese Kabobs 

• Notes:
• This class is designed for Ages 4 – 7 but can be flexible based on request.
• This can be a drop off event, but you are welcome to stay and enjoy the fun.
